Traffic is open at the Eastern exit from Ufa

On March 21, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin and Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov opened traffic at the Eastern exit from Ufa. This is the largest infrastructure facility in the region, which was built as part of the national project «Safe high-quality roads».

The project of the Eastern Exit was implemented on the principles of public-private partnership. It included the construction of a 1,276 m long tunnel, the construction of a 2.7 km long bridge across the Ufa River and the construction of a 10-kilometer highway to the federal highway M-5.

The general contractor for the construction of LMA LLC, part of the LMS Group of Companies, began large-scale work on the Eastern Exit in 2020. And in March 2021, the western and eastern directions of the automobile tunnel were connected here. In February 2022, the builders began to move the span of the bridge with a length of 470 m, which was completed in the spring of 2023.

Before the ceremony, the head of the region expressed gratitude to the project participants: «This is a long-awaited facility for residents of Bashkortostan. I sincerely thank everyone who took part in the construction of the Eastern Exit. We sincerely thank the builders who have created a unique infrastructure facility with their selfless work. For Ufa, which is surrounded by rivers on three sides, the Eastern Exit is of strategic importance.»

After the launch ceremony, the head of the region also drove through the tunnel of the Eastern Exit, and then inspected the control room and the toll collection point.
