On the territory of the sociocultural space of the Shpagin plant, the general contractor LMS Group of Companies is preparing for excavation work for the further development of the foundation pit for the new building of the Perm State Art Gallery. The construction of the future dormitory for workers is also underway.
Last year, the employees of LMS started preparing the construction site for the excavation work: the unused utility objects were dismantled, the utility networks were taken out and the archaeological monitoring was conducted. However, after discovering a cultural layer in the ground, the archaeological excavations were started.
Since September 2021, an area of 2,342 m2; was explored on the site, on which the preserved cultural layers of the mid-18th - early 20th centuries were revealed, filled with archaeological material: fragments of ceramic and wooden crockery, coins, jewelry, birch bark products, fragments of leather shoes, sandals and other items of everyday life.
97 specialists of the general contractor are engaged at the site, including engineering manpower. 15 units of equipment, including excavators, dump trucks, a mobile crane and a loader. are involved in the construction.
