About the project
The construction of the new terminal of the main air gate of Chelyabinsk was carried out on the eve of the SCO and BRICS summits, which Chelyabinsk claimed to host in 2020. The project represented a new aesthetic of the city and the region. The proposed design is convenient, it is implemented as part of the modernization of the entire airport and allows you to host any event.
The project provides for the construction of a new terminal with large waiting rooms, VIP and business passenger service halls, its area is about 16,300 m2, the arrangement of an apron, three telescopic ladders. The capacity of the air harbor has increased to 2.5 million passengers per year.
The scope of work included the supply and installation of such technological equipment as: teletraps, baggage sorting and handling systems, inspection equipment (introscopes, Yantar systems, etc.), as well as passenger furniture, check-in counters and information and equipment of medical centers, mother and child rooms and other specialized premises.
Work was scheduled to begin in the summer of 2018. In December 2019, the terminal was put into operation. The date of signing the contract is June 4, 2018.
